According to Red Hat Inc (NYSE:RHT), customers will discover, procure and manage different technologies such as databases, delivery services, and monitor the application performance through OpenShift.
Red Hat launched the OpenShift Marketplace in April 2014 and brought the benefit of the enterprise Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) ecosystem to its customers through integration.
OpenShift’s applications include mobile and web-based load testing solutions (BlazeMeter), modern applications for the phone, tablets and desktops (DreamFactory), and analytics solutions for mobile and web applications (New Relic).
In addition, OpenShift Marketplace members will get access to MySQL powered applications (ClearDB), cloud infrastructure (PubNub) and cloud-based application for improving the enterprise’s agility and governance (Collabnet).
Expanded services
Now, Red Hat Inc (NYSE:RHT) offers add-on services and provides more choices to OpenShift developers and customers to access varieties of cloud applications. It also integrates the billing options and simplifies the customers’ online purchasing experiences with OpenShift Marketplace.
The marketplace will become an ideal platform for Software-as-as-Service (SaaS) to address the need of partners and customers. The platform will offer self-services to customers and developers to choose their requirement and associated with OpenShift’s applications.
The expansion of the billing process will enhance the purchasing experiences of the customers as said by Julio Tapia, Director, Red Hat’s Openshift Ecosystem. He also said the company will continue to build a marketplace and offer new solutions in cloud services to attract more partners and customers.
Recently, the number of OpenShift’s online applications grew to two million and expects to grow further with the expansion of additional services. So, the members will now access the marketplace through Red Hat Inc (NYSE:RHT) account and avail the add-on services and purchase the company’s offerings as per their requirements.
