Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC) Integrates To Extend Network Capacity

Boston, MA 09/24/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC) will provide LTE equipment and services to support T-Mobile’s nationwide expansion plan on 4G LTE network. T-Mobile is the first company to offer Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (eSRVCC) technology to the American customers.

Integration

T-Mobile allows its customers to access VoLTE services on their existing 2G and 3G networks. But, it remains critical to access the same services in LTE network. Therefore, T-Mobile selected Ericsson, who has a strong hold over LTE network and also supported voice using eSRVCC technology through Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC)’s Media Resource System (MRS) and Session Border Gateway (SBG).

So, the association will help T-Mobile to expand the availability of high-quality VoLTE services and also enable the customers to access the LTE network for their data services along with the voice call. It will also help to improve the network performance in the highway and rural region.

The contract with Ericsson is an extension of the 2012 network transformation projects. It includes base station equipment (RBS 6000), installation and integration of advanced radio sites and tuning services.

The recent engagement will integrate T-Mobile’s existing Evolved Packet Core network infrastructure and IP Multimedia System with Ericsson’s LTE network. Then, it will enable the Wi-Fi voice calls through Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC)’s evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG).

T-Mobile’s CTO Neville Ray said that Ericsson’s LTE equipment and services will help T-Mobile to grow its LTE network in the U.S. and also enhance the performance of both voice calls and data services.

Opportunity

Ericsson, at the same time, serves more than 50% of the world’s LTE smartphone traffic and becomes a market leader in LTE network facilities. Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC) continues to offer advanced LTE solution to meet the growing demand of high-performance network for mobile broadband.

So, the association with T-Mobile will expand the LTE deployment plans and capacity while providing LTE equipment and services, as said by Angel Ruiz, Head of North America, Ericsson (ADR) (NASDAQ:ERIC).
