(NASDAQ:AMZN) has a made changes by adding ‘Flows’ image recognition technology into its main iOS app, this essentially means that iPhone users will find it easy to carry out shopping by searching products through the use of their cameras. This is not a new technology as Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is thought to have been developing the tech since 2011 through an app called Flow. The traditional method of searching for products involves the use of a barcode or the searching of the entire product name on the search panel. With the new technology, shoppers will only have to use a photo of the product thus making Shopping extremely exciting and easy.
Changes on Flow
The traditionally used ‘Flow’ only let users photograph items such as Household items, DVDS and book, the new Flow has now been integrated on iOS to enhance the purchase of more products at any given shopping opportunity. Customers with the new‘Flow’ will be allowed to manage their wish list while also having the chance of viewing their search history. To increase your wish list youwill only need to capture more products that you wish to purchase with your iPhone camera.
The new ‘Flow’ tool will appear just below the scan it tool that allows one to look for goods using the barcode; it has been customized to be more users friendly. Using it is simple as you will only need to activate it, to link it with the iPhones’camera. To be sure it is working look out for blue dots that should start appearing on the display surface
The success rate is not consistent as it will vary depending on the product you are searching, it has been found to bemore reliable when searching for things like cereal boxes, bag of potato chips and laundry detergent. Flow is abit disastrous when pointed out to drinks but quite faster when comparing to the traditional barcodes.
