What Are The New Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s New CEO Top Priorities?

Boston, MA 02/07/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been in existence for around 38 years. During that time, it has enjoyed a rich history. More importantly, it has only had three CEOs. It started with Bill Gates, followed by Steven Ballmer, and now Satya Nadella, has taken over. MSFT has not been doing as well as it should, for a company of its stature, and one that also enjoys global brand recognition as it does. First, Satya Nadella needs to identify the most pressing needs at the company and start with those. At the moment, his top priority needs to be in filling the few vacancies that exist in top management positions, and this must be done as quickly as possible.

At some point, Satya will also have to re-examine Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s strategy, and see what needs to be changed. One of his toughest tasks will be to see how he can help the company to monitor the peers who are doing better than MSFT where mobile devices are concerned. Microsoft has been too slow in responding to its peers entry and domination of the mobile devices industry. It has continued to focus on its core business, which is related to PC sales. The fact that everywhere you look you will see that PC sales are dropping like a ton of bricks, is sufficient indication that MSFT cannot continue with its belief that it can thrive with only a single product.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) also has to work on offering more than it is doing, over the Internet. This company has a lot of potential in matters to do with software and services, and it can add to its revenue by making this available to its customers worldwide over the Internet. It is worth pointing out that MSFT already boasts of more than 100,000 employees working in its various operations spread all over the world. It has made an acquisition worth $7.3 billion, which will see its workforce growing by more than 30,000 employees in 2014. Whichever way it goes around this issue, MSFT will have to factor in the salaries paid to a larger pool of employees.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) recently launched Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 in the hope that these two products would help in reviving the PC market. Unfortunately, that has not happened. These two products employ the touch-first feature, which users of PCs are unwilling to shift to from their keyboards and mouse. However, these two products would be perfect for the mobile devices industry, and fit nicely with the new tablets that the company ahs been working on. With his engineering background, Satya Nadella should be able to guide MSFT to make this transition smoothly without antagonizing its core group of PC-loving customers.

Finally, Satya Nadella has to find a way of stopping the loss of money that takes place through Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Surface tablets. It in a bit strange that the company has seen the sale of its Surface tablets pick up in the last few months, yet they keep losing money. Satya needs to address this problem. With Bill Gates by his side acting as his technology advisor, Satya has access to the sort of expertise he needs to turn this company around. The fact that Bill Gates has a programming background, should also help Satya in solving some of the technological issues the company’s products have endured, which have affected sales.
