As per the latest press release published by the company, Gennady Gazin is all set to replace Leonid Novoselsky as a member of the Supervisory board following approval from the board in this regard. It is noteworthy to mention that VimpelCom is counted as a leader in integrated telecommunications service provider across the world with its operations spread across 16 countries covering a region of nearly 754 million population.
Mr. Gazin’s Background
Mr. Gazin is presently associated with Studio Moderna in the capacity of Vice-Chairman of the Board. Studio Moderna is a multi-channel and direct to consumer retailer situated in Central & Eastern Europe. During the period of 2007 to 2012, Mr. Gazin was occupying the position of CEO at EastOne, an investment advisory group functioning at international level. Prior to which, Mr. Gazin had served McKinsey’s New York and Moscow offices for a period of 14 years. It was this time when Mr. Gazin was actively involved as a member of the Telecommunications practice, while he also contributed towards the company’s CIS practice in the capacity of Senior Partner.
Bell Communications Research/Tellcordia and General Dynamics based in the USA was the first place where Mr. Gazin’s career took a start. Mr. Gazin holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ‘Cornell University’ and a master’s degree in the same field from ‘Stanford University’. Later, he attained an MBA from the ‘Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (USA)’.
