Boston, MA 09/22/2014 (wallstreetpr) – CoolBrands, which prepares its list of Top 20 Coolest Brands of Britain annually, revealed that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) continues to enjoy a #1 position in Britain for third consecutive year. However, Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) fell from list to let Instagram, its biggest rival enjoy that platform. In fact, according to the annual survey of CoolBrands, twitter has dropped out of Top 20 list altogether, and this has happened for the first time in three years.
The Debut Companies and the Re-Entrants in the Top 20 List
Instagram made its debut in this list and that too at the #14 position. Another entry into this list is Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX), which is quite popular in the U.K. for its streaming services. Selfridges Retail Limited and Liberty too made their entry into this list, after a dearth of one year. Following these two retailers was Bose, the technology brand renowned for its audio quality.
Stella McCartney, the luxury fashion giant, also made an entry into this list along with Dom Pérignon, the champagne label, which got back after its absence for three straight years.

How is the Survey Done?
The list of Top 20 Cool Brands of Britain is prepared after undertaking voting from 2000 consumers as well as a panel that consists of 37 crucial influencers. Among the “crucial influencers” this year, were Julien Macdonald, the fashion designer; Jodie Kidd and Sophie Dahl, the models and many more such personalities.
The voters, while casting their impression, are asked to bear in mind, points such as uniqueness, authenticity, innovation, desirability and style. On the basis of voting, these consumers select their brands to be placed in the list.
The spokesman of CoolBrands, Stephen Cheliotis, in this context said that the rankings of 2014 indicate how difficult it is to maintain solid reputation, or overcome it (in case rivals are involved).
