Boston, MA 04/30/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor Inc (NASDAQ:TRIP), announcedon April 28 that it had hired Wendy Perrin, an acclaimed travel expert, as their first-ever Travel Advocate, a positioncreated especially for her as she’s been an advocate for travel for years. She has been advising and curating the best insights from TripAdvisor’s 260 million-strong monthly visitors -the biggest travel community in the world.
A New Title
In her newly appropriated role, Perrin would be responsible for creating travel content intended to be featured amongst TripAdvisor’s blog, member updates, community pages and social media channels. Perrin will also be performing the duty of serving as a TripAdvisor spokesperson.
Perrin stated that she was excited to join TripAdvisor Inc (NASDAQ:TRIP) because she believes that travelers are seeking the same truth that TripAdvisor strives to acquire via the pooled intelligence of its indomitable global community on a daily basis. She also looks forward to blending her expertise with theirs and giving millions of travelers the testimonials that they are looking for.
In addition to serving in her newly acquired role, Perrin has also launched her own travel website, titled wendyperrin.com, with the motive of providing further solutions for getting the most out of one’s travel-related experiences.
Perrin’s History
Previously, Perrin used to serve asConde Nast Traveler’s Director of Consumer News and Digital Community, where she wrote a column called“The Perrin Report” for seventeen years, along with “The Perrin Post” blog for another eight years. In the past, she’s won many accolades including a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism award,Travel Journalist of the Year and she’d also written feature article for Conde that was a forerunner for the National MagazineAward–the most prestigious editorial award in the magazine industry. She has also authored a book titled “Wendy Perrin’s Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know”.
Perrin has also been a keynote speaker at conferences all over the world, and at institutions including the United Nations and Harvard University. Her televised appearances include The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America,The Today Show and innumerable shows on CNN. She had graduated cum laude from Harvard, where she’d majored in History and Literature. Perrin is currently based out of the greater New York City metro area and has been a TripAdvisor Inc (NASDAQ:TRIP) member since 2005.
