Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN)’s stocks have gone up ever since activist investor Carl Icahn tweeted that he will send an open letter to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Time Cook. Icahn’s tweet has prompted a fresh speculation that the investor may ask Cook to buy the voice recognition company Nuance Communications, in which Icahn holds a stake. It should be noted that Nuance’s voice recognition technology powers Apple’s Siri personal assistant application, but there has been no sign ever from Apple in buying this company. Rumors are rife that Icahn, in his open letter, will be pushing for Nuance sale, and the buyer could be world’s largest technology company Apple, which has been using Nuance’s software for its immensely popular Siri platform.
