Boston, MA 06/12/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) announced that Ampac Holdings, LLC , the flexible packaging converter, has become a licensee of PacXpert™ Packaging Technology and can officially sell packages in North America.
Ampac CubePak™
Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics, the material science leader of packaging industry, will develop packages under PacXpert™ Technology and will distribute them to their customer base under the name Ampac CubePak™. This technology allows the conversion of difficult plastic containers into easy to carry and more flexible packaging options. Dow branded the technology as PacXpert™ after it attained the global license to the novel Smart Bottle™ technology, which forms the foundation of PacXpert™. Ampac will be the first licensee of the technology in bringing it to North America. North America’s Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics business development leader, Heather Turner, said that the technology allows both Ampac and Dow to be solutions leader in the packaging sector. They will share the unique ability of offering customers convenience and sustainability benefits.
Technology Benefits
The lightweight packaging design allows a fitment wrap and combined ergonomics dual handles which enables accurate pouring, convenient carrying and simple reclosing. PacXpert™ Technology, although flexible, allows stability as it can stand upright or sideways after filling. In addition, its transparent packaging not only makes it more impressive, but also offers the convenience to customers to look through and evaluate the contents inside. It also gives printing possibilities on all sides of the container.
The PacXpert™ Technology made and distributed by Ampac under the brand name of Ampac CubePak™ in North America, finds application in various households, industrial applications- both dry and liquid good products, institutions and food service. Containers are capable of being shipped and stored flat when unoccupied and the technology also offers numerous environmental benefits as they reduce content waste as even better quality products need less raw materials.
