Hewlett-Packard company (NYSE:HPQ) Unveiled ‘The Machine’, A New Type Of Computer.

Boston, MA 06/12/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Hewlett-Packard company (NYSE:HPQ) seeks to revolutionizing computing as it unveiled ‘The Machine’, which experts are referring to as a new type of Computer altogether.

Hewlett-Packard company (NYSE:HPQ) seeks to enter into a new era of advanced computing as it builds a new processing architecture which has the capability of replacing the whole lot of equipment in a data center with a single refrigerator sized machine.

‘The Machine’

What the company is calling ‘The Machine’ employs special purpose cores gathered in clusters which replace the few generalized cores. It is designed to offer a new substitute to slow, energy demanding copper wires with superfast photonics linkages. It is equipped with memristors- a unified memory which works as a flash drive when it comes to saving data permanently, but is as fast as the RAM.

In all, Hewlett-Packard company (NYSE:HPQ) is developing an all new kind of computer which has manifolds the efficiency of present day computers. It will be capable of handling, processing and storing immensely large data but will have the unique advantage of less power consumption. The company believes that The Machine will be six times more powerful than servers employed in computers but will consume at least 80 times lesser energy. With such high efficiency, it will be able to process 160 pet bytes of data in as little as 250 nanoseconds of time.

A New Concept

Gadget-gurus believe that the concept has the potential of not only proposing a new model out of the three dimensional restrictions, but also will more importantly be available in sizes that of laptops or even mobile phones. Technology experts say that since The Machine does not rely on copper wires, it does not have to cope with the restrictions involved like distance limits. They also believe the small size and advancement will make it suitable for not just data centers and supercomputers but also for other handheld devices.

Hewlett-Packard company (NYSE:HPQ), however, is not expecting to get the memory samples any time before 2015 ad hence is anticipating to ship its first ‘The Machine’ by 2018.
