There is amazing news for the company. The SunPower Corporation, a leading energy services and solar technology company and Atlas Material Testing Technology, LLC (Atlas), the worldwide leader in the weathering services and technology, announced recently that SunPower® E20/327 Solar Panel, a highly efficient solar panel, went through the rigorous Atlas 25+® Comprehensive PV Durability Testing program. After completing this test, the panel indicated less than 2 percent of power degradation, which is an outstanding result of the program. The certificate for this program was issued by SGS, which is partner of Atlas and also leading verification, testing, inspection and Certification Company of the world.

This testing protocol, Atlas 25+, includes long term exposure to the environment that requires the modules to degrade by less than 8 percent over the testing period. Only then, can they receive certification by SGS. The program is designed to subject photo voltaic modules to environmental degradation stresses which can be expected over a long-term service. Along with receiving certificate for only two percent power degradation, the SunPower E20/327 Solar Panel even passed two more criteria. One is no change in electro luminescence and the other is no visual aesthetic changes.

The Global Testing Manager at Atlas Testing Services, Richard Slomko, said that the harsh weather situations that could be suffered by solar panels throughout their life time, is replicated by their Atlas 25+ third party testing program. The president and chief executive officer of SunPower Corporation said that most reliable solar panels are produced by the company.
