Sunedison Inc (NYSE:SUNE) recently teamed up with SOLON Corporation for supplying as much as 5 MW power to Pima County, Ariz. The company announced that it has entered into a purchase power accord with SOLON for construction as well as development of eleven solar power projects in Arizona.
Energy saving guaranteed for Pima County, Ariz
Through this agreement, Pima County shall become eligible to purchase electricity for a time period of 20 years. The electricity will be available to the county for two decade at a fixed price, which means that it shall be able to enjoy considerable amount of energy saving at recreation areas, Elections Center as well as most of the civic buildings. Also, the county will enjoy over 1,800 solar awning blanket over its parking spots.
The agreement shall prove to be fruitful for the Pima County as it will take a drift towards cost effectiveness and clean energy consumption. This in turn will help the taxpayers in saving considerable amount of dollars as well as catalyzing the community’s economic growth. The project will kick off in 2015 Q4 and the construction of final site will be finished in 2016 second half.
