GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO)’s Q4 Expenditure Likely To Shoot Up For Raising Hero4 Session Camera Sale

While the world is going smaller, sleeker and simpler in terms of technology, GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) is feeling intimidated with the trend. Recently the company had launched its new Hero4 Session $400 camera that is just a size of the ice cube, but this isn’t selling very well. The camera with just a single button was created on an idea of ultraportable device, but the company’s Finance Chief, Jack Lazar believes that GoPro is experiencing a tough time in making Session’s sales worthy; especially in comparison to its other popular brands like Silver and Hero4Black cameras.

GoPro to witness a challenging Q4 2015

With all this, Mr. Lazar speculates that the company is most likely to witness a challenging fourth quarter in the present year. Generally, this quarter accounts for over 40% of the annual sales of GoPro. In the last quarter, GoPro is planning to swell its expenditure on Session’s marketing and advertising, which might increase its operating expenses. Also, the company is expected to slash the camera prices. Meanwhile, Ambarella, the major chip supplier of GoPro has also suggested that there is no more camera launch scheduled for this year.

Death knell for GoPro revolving across selling Session?

Despite all this, it is expected that challenges in increasing the sale of new device are not much of death knell for GoPro. It has already made a sale of approximately 6.5 million cameras in past 12 months, an increase of 64% on YoY basis. It is estimated that the overall addressable market of GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) is zeroing in on $20 billion, which is over 10 times in contrast with the present run rate.

Even though the cameras of the company are not much of a bargain, but the stock is still looking more or less like a bargain deal, especially after having fell by around half in the same month.
