Boston, MA 04/08/2014 (wallstreetpr) – It transpires that in the midst of his battle against cancer in the fall of 2010, Steve Jobs famed for his ability to discern future trends in the IT arena had foreseen the huge challenge that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) could mount on its smart phone and tablet market share.

Steve had anticipated android’s surge

Evidence has now emerged in the form of emails that he had circulated among his top lieutenants way back in October 2010, in which he had detailed the huge challenge that he foresees from Google Inc operating system for smart phones and tablets and goes on to list out the counter measures that they as a company need to execute swiftly to contain the challenge.

Email existence became public during ongoing patent trail

 The existence of such an email came to light during the ongoing patent trail between Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung Electronics, in which the Cupertino based firm had sued the South Korean hardware maker for infringing on five of its patents which are employed in its iPhones and iPads. It is seeking damages worth $2 billion for the above infringements. The South Korean firm has in turn accused the maker of iPhones that it has infringed on two of its own patents and is seeking damages worth $6.9 million.

The email in question once more illustrates the huge impact that Steve Jobs had on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) strategic planning and its planning on how to respond to competition and changes in the market place. The email which is being purported to have been sent only to his top 100 officials, Steve Jobs had been quoted to have warned that, “Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is in danger of hanging on to old paradigm for too long. Google and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) are further along on the technology, but haven’t quite figured it out yet. We need to catch up to Android, where we are behind.”
