Boston, MA 04/08/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced today that it has been forced to postpone it’s much anticipated Google I/O 2014 registration, which was originally scheduled to be opened today to 15th April due to unavoidable circumstances.
Google I/O 2014
For the uninitiated, Google I/O 2014 is an annual two day tech jamboree, which brings Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) executives and developers under roof. This year’s program is scheduled to be held on 25th and 26th of June, for which the registrations were to be originally opened today.
Efforts Afoot To Expand Access
In its efforts to make the event as open as possible to all interested parties, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) had published a new policy for intending participants to register online and get into a pool, from which lottery would be picked to choose the final participants for the June event. This approach has been necessitated due to the intense popularity of the event among developer community and the inability of the search engine major to accommodate all the hordes of developers who want to participate in the event at the venue with limited seating.
Google I/O 2014 Ticket Details
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has priced the tickets for this year’s event at $900 per head for developers and others, while students get a ticket for $300 per head. For one to register into the lucky draw, they need to first make sure that they are registered into Google+. In turn, they need to load up their Google Wallet app to make sure they are able to pre authorize the firm to deduct the ticket cost, in the event of they being shortlisted under the lottery system.
In order to avoid black marketing and hoarding of these tickets, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has stipulated that the tickets once allotted cannot be resold to any one or transferred to anyone else. In the event of ticket winners not being able to make it for any reason, they have an option to seek a refund on the tickets till the 1st of June. In order to avoid impersonation, every ticket holder is mandated to furnish a photo ID, in order to receive entry badge into the venue.
