Boston, MA 06/17/2014 (wallstreetpr) –  Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) has built a name for itself in the business of providing secure connectivity on an array of gadgets. However, the company believes that it still has a bigger role to play in secure communications especially in the ongoing marathon adoption of mobile communication devices such as smartphones and tablets. As such, the company has a hot product on the market to appeal to enterprise and public sectors.

The company already provides a range of security applications on PC, and one of such applications is QuickLink. In the latest move, the company announced the expansion of the security application to offer protection to public agencies and enterprises on mobile devices based on Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Windows and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Android.

Taking protection to mobile

The company said QuickLink Mobile software for Android and Window 8.1 provides flexibility and gives greater control in mobile security and connectivity. Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) expects the expansion of QuickLink Mobile to deliver the much-needed mobile security for enterprise customers and government agencies that are increasing adopting out-of-the-office work practice.

According to the company’s senior product manager, Mark An, QuickLink Mobile is different from its rivals because it is easy to install without becoming a drag on the device used.

More to come

The company hopes to make more inroads into the mobile security segment as new devices emerge, and security needs evolve. Moreover, the company anticipates an explosion in public sector adoption of mobile security features especially in the face of increased need for privacy and better data protection solutions. Such development will feed its revenue.

Nothing like Amazon deal

Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) recently distanced itself from heightened rumors that its technology will feature in future smartphone by Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZ). The company claimed that it was not involved in any product development with Amazon. Reports have been widespread that the company’s leading wireless mobile solutions would find their way into the smartphones being developed by the e-commerce giant, which has in recent times turned its focus on hardware.
