Sources on the condition of anonymity confirmed that the company is working on the hardware device and has already filed for a patent. This news has come up right after the rumor that SONY is developing a virtual reality headset. The company is trying to create an experience unique for its gaming console XBOX One customers. A report from The Wall Street Journal earlier this week noted “The software company has been developing the technology concurrently with a project known as ‘Fortaleza,’ or ‘fortress’ in Portuguese.”
Augmented reality devices had gained some quick caption recently. With these hardware devices enhancing the gaming experience for users Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) might be looking to give XBOX a major boost is the gaming console markets. The 3D gaming segment has seen many major players foraying into the industry in recent past. Japan’s Sony (TYO:6758) already has a competing product for Microsoft. Sony has already launched a wearable #D viewer device which is priced around $1000, and allows users to enjoy the games without a TV.
