QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) To Support Clarkson University With $15,000 Grant

Boston, MA 09/02/2014 (wallstreetpr) – According to a report, QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) has given a grant of $15000 to Clarkson University. The amount will be used to buy a 3D printer. As per the information given by the staff of the school, this 3D printer will be put in prototyping machine shop where more than 300 students use it for their needs. All the students belong to engineering stream, and most of them are part of Engineering Experience and Design (SPEED) Program.

What is SPEED Program:

SPEED program is a combination of various national level engineering design competitions in which students majoring in science, engineering, business and liberal arts take part. The new 3D printer will help those students who wish to take part in different SPEED programs. With the new 3D printer, they will be able to design and conceptualize their projects. Students will also be able to build different test components like Formula SAE, FIRST Robotics and Zero-Emission Snowmobile.

(NASDAQ:QCOM), all the students of Clarkson University especially those who enroll for SPEED programs will be able to showcase their talent to the entire world. They will easily get the hands-on experience that is required to start their career in early stage of life. The SPEED programs are designed to offer hands-on team based learning in the form of different projects for all the undergraduate students. They are assigned a lot of problems that have open-ended solutions. All the undergraduate students do not only get analytic knowledge, but also gain leadership, communication and problem solving skills through these SPEED programs.
