Boston, MA 06/13/2014 (wallstreetpr) – On Thursday, Potash Corp./Saskatchewan (USA) (NYSE:POT) announced its donation of $295,000 towards various initiatives related to supplying food to the youth in Regina. The company’s contribution in particular, also went into one of the program called Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger (REACH). Under the program and most importantly post Potash’s funding, the children in Regina will now get food during the summer holidays as well.
$45,000 To REACH Initiative
Executive Director of the program, Dana Folkersen said that lunches are provided to the students throughout the time of operation of school, but then it is not made available during the summer holidays, which is a very important part to look at. Folkersen said that the students and their families relied on the food supplied during the school operating days, but then do not find the much needed availability in summer. Thus, the group has taken the initiative with funds being provided, to reach out to those students, who need food during the summers too.
