Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK)’s Mobile Phones Impacted The World; Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Didn’t

Boston, MA 09/22/2014 (wallstreetpr) – As Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s latest releases hit the showrooms, consumers flocked to get grasp of their little piece of innovation. And more so, it appears that these phones will help Apple hit the desired revenue target as well. But, the fact is that these phones will not take the U.S. economy by stride. These phones will nevertheless be the “Apple of the eye,” for consumers in the developing nations and add to that the mobile payments system; these iPhones will sell at the rocket speed. What actually is important here is the fact that despite being successful for their fancy designs and chic styling, Apple hasn’t had a great impact on the world. Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) has managed to be that brand for the world.

The World Bank Report

As per the latest data of the recent data of the World Bank, there has been an increase of 65 subscribers per 100 people, in terms of mobile phones. In 1998, this number was just 1 subscriber per 100 people. This depicts the level of poverty that exists in a few countries of the globe.

But with the huge expansion of the telecom industry across the world, a direct and dramatic impact was seen on some of the indicators of macro-economics. In poorer countries, it is not the latest technology, fancy designs and elegant styling of Apple that has had any effect, but cheap and easily-affordable mobile phones of Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) that has really had an impact on the world.

Apple and Nokia: A Comparison

However, the point here is that, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has hardly catered specifically to the uneducated and poor target audience. While Apple talks about innovation and go-ahead technology, Nokia, on the other hand, is the comrade of those who are just learning to get abreast with the technology. Also, Nokia caters mostly to a fair-enough middle-class section of any nation.

The fact is underscored still- Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) has managed to change the world in terms of GDP, and Apple has failed to do so.
