Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK): Keeps things Rolling

Boston, MA 07/21/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) signs a multiple year pact with WiLAN that enables it to use suite of wireless technology patented products that WiLAN has to offer. A part of the deal would mean the WiLAN would have access to utilize the latest wireless technological innovations of Nokia. The companies hope for symbiotic technological development for each other.

Android to Windows

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) might have to shift from Android to Windows, the reason being Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) experiment to shift from Android based Nokia X phones to a Window phone. Also, Nokia might get affected by Microsoft plan to lay off 18K jobs by the next year which is about 14% of its present work force. The process would take the route of immediate shift to Windows while supporting existing Nokia X phones. Ultimately, the Nokia X is also expected to utilize the Windows tools.

The Indian Legal Tangle

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) owes $348 million to Indian Government in the form of tax. It could end up pay a total of $3.5 billion if it loses the legal battle that is underway at present. The $3.5 billion amount is a summation of the total claims, interest and penalties. Such a huge amount being involved in this legal case, Nokia has written to the Prime Minister of India for an amicable solution. Due to this scenario, Nokia has excluded its Indian based branches from participating in a $7.5 billion deal of supplying the handsets to the Microsoft.

Date for Interim Report

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) announces that it would publish its Interim report for Q2 2014 on July 24, 2014. The report would be available on Nokia website for the interested audience immediately after the publication. It is of usual practice for Nokia to publish summary of interim reports with focus on financial statements. One can connect to the conference call at 3 pm Finish time regarding the same.
