Billion Strong Market Attracts Games Creators
China has emerged as one of the biggest markets globally for companies which manufacture computer and mobile games. The Chinese government had banned the sale of foreign manufactured gaming consoles in the country in early 2000. Since then a host of Chinese firms had captured large swaths of the digital games market in China.

Once the Chinese government opened up the sector to foreign firms, a host of U.S and Japanese firms have released their products in China.
Partners Aim 1M Unit Sales By Next Year
The surge in “Xbox One” sales was first disclosed by Chinese video games portal “17173”. Shanghai Media Group Vice-president Zhang Dazhong in an interview to local media has been quoted to have said that the two companies are aiming to sell nearly one million xbox consoles over the next one year. Shanghai Media Group owns BesTV, which is the local partner for Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). “Xbox One sales in China have been an exception. In other Asian markets like South Korea and Japan, it is struggling to retain market share against competition.
