Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Sway Comes With Interactive Charts, Accent Formatting, And Focus Points

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) declared further updates to its Sway app. The iPhone version of Sway—presently the sole native client—was updated as well. Now it is simple and convenient to fill up presentations with interactive charts and files in Word, PowerPoint, and PDF format.

The software giant is also debuting novel Sway features that empower users to have their presentations look exactly as per their desire. The declaration follows a succession of improvements the software major has made to the app in the months post its October 2014 introduction.

Users have the facility to highlight Focus Points in images to make sure they show up across devices. We look at the explanation of the feature by the Sway team.

Powerful functionality

By harnessing Focus Points in Sway, it is pretty simple to inform Sway what to focus on in the image by taps or clicks. Whether present in the Storyline or the Sway Canvas, click or tap the image. Choose Focus Points in the appearing toolbar or buttons. Upon opening of the Focus Points pane, simply click or tap on what’s key in the image. It is possible to move Focus Points around by dragging them. In order to remove them, click or tap them again.

In the bottom region of the pane is a preview of how the resulting crop is displayed on mobile screens and PC/tablet screens.

A new feature is Accent. It makes text stand out although subtly as compared to the Emphasis feature. Emphasis could set text in bold or display it in different colors. Accent, on the other hand, could offer italics or a soft glow.

Incorporation of native charts

Data jockeys would be pleased by the new support for a plethora of native charts. The latter include bar charts, column charts, pie graphs and many more. It is possible to add data via Sway along with altering the way the visualizations look.
