(NYSE:DTE) on a smart cities demonstration project as it seeks to highlight how smart technologies can be used to manage energy consumption. Demonstrations of the project will take place on the 30th of September to October 2nd in Detroit.
Showcasing of Energy Efficient Technologies
Efficient use of energy will be demonstrated using various components ranging from mobile apps, unmanned aerial vehicles as well as smart electric vehicle charging station and a water leak detections system. During the forum, apps will be used to show how people can use their smartphones to better-manage energy in their homes.
Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ:ITRI) has already developed an app that can be used to provide a clear view of energy costs as well as water revenue and CO2 impacts, expected to be beneficial to city leaders. DTE Energy Co. (NYSE:DTE) insight app, on the other hand, allows consumers to better manage energy consumption in their homes with the use of smartphones. A smart electric vehicle charging station will be’ showcased during the fourth coming event showing how drivers can use revenue grade metrology and Wi-Fi technology for charging their smartphones.
Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ:ITRI) has also been selected by an electricity distribution network in France for its Linky smart grid program seen as a reliable system for achieving intelligent metering as well as communications in Networks. The system has been proved to be reliable in improving electricity delivery while also reducing integration costs and difficulties.
