Boston, MA 01/30/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) helped raise more than $613,000 for United Way of the Capital Regions. The money was raised through a funds drive campaign in which RAD’s corporate associates participated. Since it began this corporate fundraising campaign in 2002, RAD has raised more than $6.4 million for the organization. This fundraiser is aimed at improving the lives of community around Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) and it thus feels the corporate responsibility to chip in with help. The latest amount that the fundraiser realized through Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) and its corporate associates is $20,000 more than what was raised in the prior year. RAD lost almost 3.5 percent on the browser Wednesday to close south $5.36.
Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) exceeded expectations when it reported Q4 results Tuesday. The company realized adjusted EPS of $0.29 which showed improvement of 4 percent over the corresponding quarter in the prior year. Net sales for the quarter were $2 billion. With these results, Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) beat Wall Street on both EPS and revenue. However, that was as far as good news could be. On other aspects, the company fired a warning shot that its large display panel business like those used in TV sets would see a further decline in sales in the current quarter. This was not good considering that sales in that segment were already down 5 percent over the 12 months period to the just reported Q4.
Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRUS) which makes chips used in mobile devices lived up to expectation when it issued its Q4.14 guidance. The company stated that revenue in the current quarter is expected to come in the range of $130 – $150 million, yet analysts are looking for revenue of $175.3 million. This narrow outlook was expected considering that Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) which was the company’s biggest customer had already provided a light guidance for the current quarter. Outside of the guidance talk, Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRUS) posted beating results for Q3 whereby it generated $218.9 million revenue and adjusted EPS of $0.89. Analysts were expecting revenue of $213.3 million and EPS of $0.77.
