Is Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Heading Out Of Business?

Boston, MA 09/26/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), which was once among the most talked-about companies of the world, has sub-sided in the recent years. This can understood by the way that any new products launched by the company do not attract either the consumers or the media. So does that mean Microsoft has lost its relevance? Interestingly, a lot of people do not even know about the newly launched Surface tablet recently launched by the company. Forbes, in this regard, says that, a trend like shows that the company is gradually heading out of its prime business and that, it’s just based on the time.

NFL-Surface Tablet Deal and Microsoft’s Irrelevance

Take, for example, the deal between NFL and Microsoft’s Surface. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) had made an accord with NFL to give these tablets to players and coaches during the games. Microsoft said that this will help in replacing clipboards, paper and photographers, during the review of the on-field activities.

The purpose of doing so was to prove to everyone that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is still “cool” and competent. Also, the company thought that it would allow developers to design apps for this tablet. But Microsoft lost it to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) evidently, after everyone called the Surface tablet as iPad. With this, two points became very clear. One, that Microsoft is not so “cool.” And second, that Apple has concreted its position in the innovative tablet market. Also, it has become clear that no matter what product one gives to a user, Apple, as a brand, is dominating their minds.

Dying PCs, Laptops Market and Developing Tablet, Smartphone Market

Another point that proves that Microsoft is most likely heading towards no revenue generation phase, is that its forte market- PCs is no longer relevant. The pieces of technology that are taking the world by storm today are smartphones and tablets- both of which are not Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s cup of coffee. And the disappointing part is that, no one is bothering about the launch of Office or Windows now!
