The company serves customers throughout the world in about 28 countries and territories and it runs more than 6,500 franchise restaurants. The stock of The Wendy’s Co (NASDAQ:WEN) gained 0.81 cents in the previous session to conclude at $9.90.

Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT) declared profit of 253 million, meaning 21 cents per share. In the previous year the company earned $34 million or 3 cents per share. With such impressive results, investors are asking if there is still room for growth in the company. According what CEO Gary Dickerson stated at release of the most recent quarter results, the good performance was helped by healthy investment by its display and semiconductor customers, leading to double digit growth. It they hope that the business environment is still attractive for their operations. Revenue in the most recent quarter was $2.19 billion, suggesting 39 percent increase. Among other things, the strength of AMAT is its acquisition of Tokyo Electron in an all-stock deal. The shares of Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT) were touching positive ends, leading to eventual 11 cents gain per share for the stock to conclude at $19.10.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) has finally lifted the lid on what it was cooking to unveil Nokia X, initially codenamed Nokia Normandy. The phone features smashed up version of Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Android mobile OS. The tweaks that have gone into the design of the OS make it as friendly with Windows apps as with Android apps. With the release of Nokia X, it shows that the initially leaked information about the phone were not farfetched; among other things the phone features enhanced resolution and comes in 4-inch display screen.
