Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) Offers Bay-Trail Entry ToExploit China’s Tablet Market

Boston, MA 04/23/2014 (wallstreetpr)  – In a bid to unlock value in the markets of China as well as other emerging nations for Android entry-level tablets, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) will soon introduce Bay Trail-Entry, which is a CPU platform meant for use in entry-level tablets, as per the supply chain makers based in Taiwan.

Bay-Trail Entry

The sources mentioned that in the first quarter, Intel has shipped five million units and plans to ship tablet processors close to 40 million in the current year. In its move to help makers and vendors embrace its Bay Trail-Entry, it has offered platform-based tablet reference designs to them. It includes its 7-inch and 8-inch models equipped with its Atom Z3735G and Atom Z3735F respectively.

Apart from this, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has also suggested a number of certified suppliers of tablet component, which includes Innolux, AU Optronics, BOE Technology,  InfoVision Optoelectronics (Kunshan) and Chunghwa Picture Tubes for panels. In lens solutions, it recommendsGalaxycore Shanghai, OVT and BYD; while SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, Micron Technology, Integrated Silicon Solution  andNanya Technology for memory. It listsFibocom Wireless, Huawei Technologies and ZTE for 3G/4G modules, Realtek Semiconductor and Broadcom for communication ICs and Goodix,  ILI Technology and FocalTech Systems for touch solutions.  Bosch, Kionix,  and AMM are recommended for sensors and Texas Instruments and Monolithic Power Systems for power management, as noted by the sources.

Market Share Prime Importance

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)’s attempt in tablet processors is aimed to maximize its market dominance rather than to earn profit at this point of time, as claimed by the sources. In the entry-level tablet market, Intel is expected to confront intense competition primarily from MediaTek and then from China-based IC design companies. While MediaTek Inc. and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) have little in common, but right now Tablet space has become a major common factor between the two companies. Sources are of view that as a result of a growing competition the processor prices might see a fall eventually.
