Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) has announced plans to offer services like incident response and assessments in alliance with FireEye Inc (NASDAQ:FEYE). The new initiative allows Hewllet-Packard to address broader market with new range of cybersecurity solutions.
The partnership plans are divulged at a large gathering that aims to win corporate security customers in San Francisco on Tuesday.
David DeWalt, Chief Executive Officer FireEye Inc (NASDAQ:FEYE), said the alliance allows using capability to meet the goal.
Currently Hewllet-Packard has 5000 consultants engaged in managing security operations. Most of them are working to address the cybersecurity needs of large corporate clients on an outsourced basis.
The new initiative allows the consultants at Hewllet-Packard to bring in the technology of FireEye and Mandiant’s investigators onto a single platform. FireEye has acquired Mandiant previous year.
Apart from addressing the private and government customers alike, Mandiant has the capability to locate units responsible for security breach. The company traced a specific unit attached to the People’s Liberation Army of China responsible for security breach at major firms.
Though, the services of Mandiant are very expensive, Hewllet-Packard will offer its branded Cybersecurity services to small firms at affordable rates. The deal allows even smaller firms to safeguard their businesses from rogue attacks.
HP Enterprise Services Executive Vice President Mike Nefkens said the new initiative will help more clients, who intend to strengthen their Cybersecurity to prevent future attacks. Those customers are looking for readymade security solutions to protect their networks soon.
With this deal, the company also plans to increase its foothold in nations like the Middle East, Europe and Africa where FireEye has offered its Cybersecurity solutions on small scale.
David DeWalt has not revealed further details of the deal like exclusive and other terms.
However, the customers will greatly benefit from the expertise of FireEye in detecting and thwarting the attacks intelligently.
Meanwhile, FireEye, a prominent Cybersecurity company, is expanding the clientele of firms for which it has provided threat details. Examples include alliance with Check Point Software Technologies, a leading provider of firewall services in Israel.
