Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has attained yet another milestone through the globalization of its Messenger video calls.
The company has had phenomenal success with the messenger App since it was introduced not so long ago. The social media company has constantly been tweaking the platform in an effort to bring out more and give users a more satisfying and unique experience. In addition to audio calls, Facebook introduced the video call feature to the messenger platform in April.
The launch of the new video feature only catered for a few countries at the time. Regions lucky enough to access the service at the time of the launch include France, Greece, Norway, Nigeria, Canada, UK, US, Oman, Portugal, Uruguay, Laos Croatia and Ireland.
Facebook reported that the service was not yet available to in most countries because of network constraints especially with regards to the network speeds in most of the areas. The wildly successful firm claimed that it wanted to optimize the service for use even when the users are not connected to WIFI networks. Additionally the company claimed that it held out the expansion because it had to work on improving the video quality.
The company has been making hard at work to expand the reach of the messenger app. The recent expansion will support video calls for clients in most parts of the world as the company continues to work on its availability in all countries.
This addition marks the company’s major efforts achieved through the additional attention that Messenger has been receiving from the RND team. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has been including some major steps to the service. It recently introduced a commercial feature to the app, where one can send and receive money using the messenger app. FB also introduced a developer platform for developers to generate new apps.
Facebook promises that the heavy concentration on the messenger application is just the start. The company hopes to make many other comprehensive additions to its messenger app.
