Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE:CCI), Primerica, Inc. (NYSE:PRI) And Avista Corp (NYSE:AVA) Declare Dividends

Boston, MA 08/11/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Shared wireless infrastructure operator Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE:CCI), distributor of financial products Primerica, Inc. (NYSE:PRI) and energy generation and distribution company Avista Corp (NYSE:AVA) have announced that their board had declared a quarterly cash dividend to their shareholders.

Dividend Rate

Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE:CCI) disclosed that its board had given permission to pay a dividend of 35 cents a share to its shareholders. Primerica too announced a quarterly cash dividend of 12 cents a share while Avista’s board had approved a quarterly cash dividend of 31.75 cents a share to their shareholders.

The wireless carrier said that the dividend would be paid to its shareholders on September 30 and that September 19 has been fixed as record date for determining the eligible shareholders. The financial products distributor would pay a dividend on September 16 to the shareholders’ name appearing as on August 20, the record date. Similarly, the energy company said that the dividend would be paid to its shareholders on September 15 to those shareholders of August 21, the record date.

Yield & Growth

The current dividend of Crown Castle provides 1.80% yield and works out to $1.40 a year on an annualized basis. The dividend payout ratio was 146%. Since the company has been paying dividend only from the current year, there has been nothing to indicate the dividend growth rate for the three-year and five-year periods.

Primerica, Inc. (NYSE:PRI)’s latest dividend yield works out to 1.0%, and the dividend payout ratio represents 15%. The average dividend growth rate for the three-year was 108.6% as the company has been paying its dividend since 2010.

Avista Corp (NYSE:AVA) was the clear winner among the three companies. The company has been paying dividend since 1899 and has been increasing its dividend rate for the eleventh straight years. While the dividend offers 4.10% yield, it works out to $1.27 a share on a yearly basis. The dividend payout ratio was 64% while the average five-year dividend payout ratio was 67%. The average dividend growth rate for the three years and five years were 5.87% and 10.87% respectively.
