It is launched with the feature of image recognition but can this one feature set the Amazon’s phone apart? Perhaps Jeff Bezos have really to work hard to make the phone sale in the competitive mobile industry. The Fire phone is expected to come in the market on July 25. The prices will start from $199. AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) will act as an exclusive wireless carrier for Amazon Smartphone.

The Features

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has finally entered into the industry of Smartphone. The Smartphone is loaded with the various features. It has got audio and image recognition technology. It has unlimited storage for multimedia files. Users will have the benefit of 3-D viewing. Along with this, the customers will get free membership of one year to the Prime fast-shipping program. The Fire Phone, which will be available July 25 with AT&T Inc. (T) as the exclusive wireless carrier, will start at $199.

The Competition

The mobile industry is dominated by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung Electronics Co. the other market share is occupied by the low-cost phone makers from countries like China. It will be tough for Amazon to make a place in the mobile industry. The company is not providing any special cost benefits to the Smartphone users. It is coming with a two year contract that will bring it at the same cost structure as that of Apple IPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy.

The Strength

The only strength that lies with Amazon is the break-even margins that it can keep on the hardware. It has received huge success by following the same strategy for it- e-readers and tablets. It will help it to create a space for itself in the competitive industry. It can make the profits by providing the additional services on the devices. As of now, it is best for Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) to start with its successful and proven strategy.
