Boston, MA 04/04/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Xerox Research Centre Canada (XRCC), a subsidiary of Xerox Corp (NYSE:XRX) has entered into an agreement with Authentix Inc., for the supply of anti-counterfeiting related materials for research services. Authentixprimarily serves the oil and gas industry and also serves the tax stamp markets.
The deal is expected to be advantageous to the company’s scientist in the research world. This deal is expected to help he company strengthen its grip over revenues generated from Canadian innovation industry.
XRCC scientists have acquired significant capabilities in designing and developing environment friendly specialty components.
Vehicle passenger system helps Xerox shares
In another development the unveiling of a new passenger vehicle system which helps in enforcement of HOV/HOT lane rules seems to have helped Xerox share prices which have appreciated 2.3%.
In a practical scenario officers normally have to stay on the side shoulder of a highway and need to quickly merge into traffic to chase down any person who violates High occupancy Toll or High Occupancy Vehicle norms. The system developed by Xerox uses high quality images and automation techniques to predict with approximately 95% success rate the number of occupants in a vehicle. This system would help the law enforcement agencies to have a better evidence package for litigation use.
Robert Zapfel to lead Xerox’s services business
Xerox Corp (NYSE:XRX) announced the appointment of Robert Zapfel as president, Xerox Services and as an executive vice president reporting to Chairman and CEO Ursula Burns. MrZapfelsucceds Lynn Blodgett.
MrZapfel is a 35 yr old former International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) employee having held several senior positions in the organization. The appointment is important as the services business accounts for 55 percent of the current revenues and is expected to touch 66 percent by the end of 2017. The business includes outsourcing, of business (BPO), information technology and documents outsourcing assignments like toll collection etc.
