Wells Fargo Securities upgrades Career Education Corp. (NYSE:CECO)’s stock

The ratings of Career Education Corp. (NYSE:CECO) have been upgraded by the analysts of Wells Fargo Securities. The new and upgraded rating provided to Career Education Corporation is “Outperform” from “Market Perform”.

According to the analysts who have provided a new rating to the Career Education Corporation, they have given the upgrade with reference to the anticipated $276.5 million. This is expected to be received from the sale of the European assets belonging to the company. Having the expected cash infusion by selling of the European assets, the analysts of Wells Fargo Securities planned to increase the price target of the shares of Career Education Corporation from $2.50 – $4.80 to $5 – $7.

 As soon as the announcement was made by Wells Fargo Securities, the trading session experienced a new run and the stock gained a lot there by increasing the trading session of the company.

In the earlier estimations made by the analysts of Wells Fargo Securities, the European assets belonging to Career Education Corporation were of $106 to $127 million for the entire international business schools which also includes INSEEC Group and the International University of Monaco. Originally, the company paid the price of 5.7 x EBITDA for INSEEC. But the recent price to be paid by the Apax Partners and the private equity acquirer for Career Education Corporation assets it is estimated to be around 13.1 x FY13’s estimated EBITDA.

The analysts also clarified that the revised analysis does not includes any kind of savings in the overhead expensed. In other words, the new estimation expects some of the overhead costs but does not includes the savings to be done in the overhead expenses. The company also mentioned to use the proceeds from the European sales to grow in the United States of America.
