Talking about the recent trading session of Vodafone Group Plc (ADR) (NYSE:VOD), the prices of stock of shares climbed up by 2.1%. The prices raised as the executives of AT & T Inc are planning a takeover the UK office by early next year. This has also helped in increasing the overall market cap of the company which has also proved to be highly beneficial for them.
Though, the company has not been included into any kind of formal negotiations, but the executives of AT & T are laying their ground work internally and are engaged in identifying which assets belonging to Vodafone Group Plc to retain in the potential takeover.
This merger of AT & T Inc and Vodafone Group Plc would be the biggest merger of two telecom operators by sales.
Moreover, the Myanmar government has invited the leading foreign mobile carriers including Vodafone Group Plc and Orange to bid a running of successful cellular networks in the city. This would be a partnership between the cellular company Vodafone Group Plc and state owned Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications which is also known as MPT.
This invitation from the government of Myanmar would be a second chance for the Vodafone Group Plc to enter the country once again after they lost two licenses earlier this year and also lost their clients.
Also this would help in getting the people of Myanmar cellular phones facility. In Myanmar, there is less than 10% of population or only 60 M people having mobile phones. This is a result of the concerns brought forward by the government of Myanmar in order to build network and the potential involvement of a conglomerate connected to the military.
