Vodafone Group PLC (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD) Powers FTSE To Highest Close

Boston, MA 02/25/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Vodafone Group PLC (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD) was on a rampage on Monday trading session as its stock surged by a high of $20.92% after the sale of its 45% stake in Verizon wireless. The telecom company recorded its highest close since 1999 being powered by FTSE 100, to close the Monday trading session at a high with investors investing its $60 billion cash return.

Vodafone Group PLC (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD) was trading huge volumes on Monday trading session a record of more than 5 years which pushed the company as high as 4.1% to 252.3p. The closure of its sale of 45% stake in Verizon meant that its shareholders were entitled to 1.27 billion shares from Verizon wireless of which a quarter were expected to be sold. Vodafone seems to have been buoyed with this sale, as it added 9 points to the FTSE 100 index, closing at 6,865.86 a gain of 0.4% or 27.8 points

Vodafone teams with Erickson Radio Dot system

Vodafone Group PLC (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD) has confirmed it is teaming up with mobile broadband supplier Erickson in a bid to bring high performance cellular connectivity closer to enterprise buildings by the use of Erickson Dot system. The system is mainly designed to provide efficient and consistent high performance user experience useful for both indoor and outdoor environments.

Vodafone Group PLC (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD), as part of the deal has signed to be the lead customer for the radio Dot system which it intends to use to expand its 3G and LTE mobile broadband network. Vodafone sought the Erickson Dot System as it has been found to be extremely sleek and compact with the capability of blending with any environment therefore highly reliable for mobile broadband capacity.

The latest announcement comes at the back of Vodafone Chief Executive Officer Vottorio Colao claiming that Europe phone carriers are not investing as they should, on new technologies and calling for more consolidation
