(NYSE:VZ) subsidiary, Verizon Wireless, has been recognized for the highest award in Hartford, Connecticut, by RootMetrics for the company’s overall network performance.
Top Award
Independent mobile analytics organization, RootMetrics, disclosed that apart from the overall network results in Hartford, Verizon’s wireless wing had also been ranked highest as far as speed, data, reliability, and call categories were concerned. The company stated that it had won or tied in 48 States for the overall network results Award of RootScore besides winning more awards than any other service provider in the speed, data, reliability, and call performance categories and overall performance.
Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) said that RootMetrics study of 125 metro markets during the first six-month period of the current calendar year 2014 indicated that its wireless wing came in the top or joint top in 115 markets, including New Haven and Hartford. The Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) added that it had won or encountered tie in more cities compared to any other service provider in overall network results. It said that it had scored 30 wins or ties of the 50 major U.S. airports study conducted by the RootMetrics, which was also higher than any other service provider.
Analytics Firm Study
RootMetrics said that its bi-annual study was a comprehensive mobile network test completed and published, and it had ranked the four biggest wireless service providers in the U.S. on six categories such as speed, data, reliability, call, text, and overall network performance.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) Wireless New England Public Relations Manager, Michael Murphy, said that the study of RootMetrics had only confirmed its status of network leadership position in not only Hartford but also throughout the country. He added that the company had already invested $3.7 billion throughout New England since 2000 on its wireless network. This included $179 million invested during the first six-month period to improve its service to provide its customers with a great experience apart from building a base to fuel the future innovation.
