On 3 February 2012, the Company Valeant Pharmaceuticals Intl Inc (NYSE:VRX) divesting 1% clindamycin and the 5% of benzoyl peroxide gel, which is a generic-version of Benzaclin. Apart from this it also divested 5% fluorouracil cream to to Mylan Inc.
The product is an authorized-generic of Efudex, On 12 March 2012, it bought a 19.9 percent minority-equity investment in Pele Nova Biotecnologia. In 2012 September, it acquired Visudyne. This is used in the treatment of abnormal growth of leaky blood-vessels in the eye that are caused by wet, age-related macular-degeneration.
