The UnitedHealth Group Inc (NYSE:UNH)’s CEO, Stephen Hemsley, along with Snyder discussed the future of subsidiary Optum in the state earlier this Tuesday, April 29. Optum, the parent company of La Crosse-based Logistics Health Inc., has its offices in the Detroit suburb of Southfield and is described as an IT-enabled health services conglomerate with over 50,000 employees worldwide.
Utilizing Michigan’s Raw Talent
UnitedHealth Group Inc.’s Optum business will be adding up to 120 jobs in Southfield, Michigan, the company stated on Tuesday.
Optum will be hiring seventy-five employees, including web designers, software developers and program managers within a period of eight months. The company intends to take in between roughly 100 to 120 new hires within the next three years.
Hemsley, in a news release, stated that Michigan’s business environment, and its exemplary and expanding tech workforce define the state as an obvious choice for UnitedHealth Group Inc (NYSE:UNH) in light of their efforts to make the health care system function better for everyone, and help Americans essentially live healthier lives.
Workers at Optum’s Southfield facility will be developing technology-based products and services for health consumers and providers.
Optum’s expanding workforce would give the company a total of 700 employees in Michigan.
