Boston, MA 05/12/2014 (wallstreetpr) – United Airlines has officially announced the launch of its nonstop flights on Denver International Airport- Panama City route. United Airlines Strategic move
United Airlines decision to start nonstop flights to Panama City is seen as another major addition to DIA’s leading flight service. From United’s strategic partnership with Copa Airlines, Denver-area travellers can now connect directly to the Panamanian capital and several other cities in Central and South America. The launch of service to Panama City will connect the corporate executives and leisure travellers to the business and financial capital of Central America. It will strengthen DIA’s position as a global hub as well as an international competitor.
The Panama Canal is an important trade route that connects the Pacific Ocean with the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. United’s service to Panama City will connect travellers to top destinations in South America, including Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina. The service will boost tourism, cultural and business activities. United Continental Holdings Inc (NYSE:UAL) currently serves over 180 destinations across the world including nonstop flights to 10 destinations including Latin America, Canada, and Asia from Denver International Airport.
Service to begin from December
The service will commence from December 3 after all the government approvals are obtained. It will be a daily service from November to August and five times a week in the months of September and October. Boeing 737-700 aircraft, having a sitting capacity of 118 passengers will operate between the two destinations. It has 12 seats in Business class and 106 seats in Economy class out of which are 40 are Economy Plus seats with extra-legroom. According to a study conducted in the year 2011 for DIA estimated that daily nonstop service would generate a $72 million annual economic impact in Colorado and will generate more than 400 new jobs. The passenger traffic at DIA has reached an all-time high in the past year. March 2014 was the busiest month for international passenger traffic in Denver.
