Twitch Vice president Matt DiPietro seemed to have been caught ona surprise by the research findings as he was quoted as saying “We don’t keep track of our share of global internet traffic, so that chart was news to us, But I think it was gratifying for our infrastructure team to see, because they have been working like crazy to help us keep up”
Cause of the sudden rise being experienced at Twitch
New platform for Twitch streaming service and a home console system have acted as the major factors that have caused the sudden rise in consumer subscription. Most of twitch subscribers are currently coming from PlayStation 4 subscribers according Dieptro which is an indication that people are in search of the ability to stream games.
