Boston, MA 10/13/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Drug maker DURECT Corporation (NASDAQ:DRRX) announced that it would be sharing results and data it has collected from its drug candidate POSIDUR™ (SABER®-Bupivacaine) at the ANESTHESIOLOGY™ 2014 conference which started on 11th October and would end on 15th October. The conference is running on the sidelines of the annual American Society of Anaesthesiologists get together. The post-surgical analgesia drug candidate is designed to provide up to pain “relief” for nearly three full days after the patients have undergone operations. This was disclosed by Company President and CEO James E. Brown.
The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) and Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited announced on 10th October that the aircraft builder has handed over the first 787-9 Dreamliner to European airliner. The privately owned European firm would be flying the aircraft on its “Heathrow to Boston” route. The hand over took place at the Gatwick Airport in London. The new aircraft has been christened as ‘Birthday Girl.’ The craft is the 1st of the 16 jumbos it has ordered from The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA). The aircraft is being positioned as Virgin Atlantic’s flagship aircraft and is likely to improve the efficiencies of its U.S routes. The new aircraft is expected to attract new passengers to its service thanks to its unique passenger experience.
W.P. Carey Inc (NYSE:WPC) announced on 10th October that it has bought a 235,943 square-foot office and additional R&D facility by spending $56 million. The transaction occurred between consortium involving Leggat McCall Properties and Long Wharf Real Estate Partners with W.P. Carey Inc (NYSE:WPC). The much sought after property is located in Boston. The property has been leased to Schneider Electric USA for a 15 year period. The Real estate investment trusts Managing Director and Co-head of Global Investments Mr. Jason Fox has commented that through this purchase, they have secured a “solid income-generating asset” which will increase the valuation of its “owned real estate portfolio.”
