Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has the new music streaming service will allow analysts to gauge whether Jimmy Lovine was the right person for the job.
Jimmy Lovine is a man whose track record leaves a lot to be desired. His presence in Apple’s music ventures has been significant and influential. He co-founded Beats the music streaming and headphones company with Dr. Dre and will be one of the figures behind the launch of Apple music. Apple might have hit two birds with one stone with the $3 billion acquisition that ended up bringing Lovine into the mix. However, the launch of the music service will determine whether it was indeed a worthy investment.
Lovine’s career kicked off back when he was a producer at Atlantic Records. He was recruited by music icon, Doug Morris and one of his initial solid projects was Stevie Nicks’ Bella Donna album. Lovine had his eyes on working with the Rolling Stones at the time, but Doug had an interest in Nicks. Dough wanted Nicks’ album to be a huge hit, so he made sure that Lovine worked on it.
Many years down the line, lovine is still dealing with the music industry, something that he clearly does very well. The launch of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Music set to take place on June 30 will determine whether the investment that Apple made in Lovine has paid off.
The question whether he is the right person to spearhead the music streaming service remains. However, a few things are clear about Lovine. His presence and contribution in the music industry has earned him a great deal of skill, as well as respect from Music folk. He also has deep connections in the music industry.
Lovine has a lot of work cut out or him in his position especially in an industry that already has famous streaming services that have been in existence for many years.
