Boston, MA 02/10/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) has seen the need (or is it the plight) of firefighters and it has taken the usual bold steps to do something. The company has launched The Charmin Relief Project. This is a program designed to bring better bathroom experience to consumers, including the brave women and men who always act within a moment notice to fight fire in the neighborhood, if not at your very own yard.
Over the past few years something has been happening. PG has noted literally thousands of Charming toilet paper rolls to firefighters in various locations. Now, the company is not going to spot, at least until it sees that consumers are getting that great bathroom experience. Thus Charming Relief Project is about helping the brave, loved and often underfunded public servants to be as comfortable as the can be in their Firehouse.
The incident jolted GP to act
The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) says that the mission of the Charmin project is to “surprise and delight people.” And that surprise and delight is about people having a more enjoyable go. That is according to GP’s Regional Brand Director Scott Mautz. And firefighters are at the heart of this charity action. When the company learnt that firefighters were using their own money to buy toilet paper, more than 70,000 rolls of Charmin toilet paper brand were donated to the Detroit Fire Department. That was way back in 2012. And as recent as last year, Charmin made another toilet paper donation, sending 10,000 rolls to the Moonachie Fire Department, New Jersey.
The Moonachie Fire Department was being rebuilt after the Hurricane Sandy aftermath when the Charmin donation was made.
Everyone knows that firefighters are to act, if possible, with speed of light when someone dials 9-1-1. Yet in the process of keeping the communities safe from fire accidents and sometimes lengthy duration in the Firehouse, responding to the call of nature can sometimes, if not most of the time, call for spending one’s own money to have an enjoyable go. But this is something that The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) believes it can change.
