Boston, MA 08/15/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has said that it will hire the Hackers from the DEFCON. It is an annual security conference held in Las Vegas. The CEO, Elon Musk was present at the conference so as to find the answer to its problems

The issues

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is facing certain problems with its Model S electric vehicle. It intends to hire the hackers, who can help the car maker in finding out the security flaws present in controlling software. Tesla can hire around 20 to 30 hackers from the security conference. One of the computer security researchers, Kristin Paget, working with Tesla said that the car maker has already solved one of the security flaws in the vehicles. Known as “hacker princess,” she further added that Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is a super car that is connected to the internet. Tesla can make the necessary changes in its software on the online platform.

The existing challenges

There are several cases where the attempts were made to hack Tesla car. The legal challenge to hack the system of Model S was thrown in the Sycan+ 360 conference held in Beijing. The winner was entitled to get the reward of $10,000. Musk has given his nod for the competition with a request that participants should opt for responsible hacking. It was a means to discover the security flaws in Model S.

The developments

Qihoo 360 Technology was one of the internet security companies that accepted the challenge. It was successful in finding the means to access the Model S features like horns, skylights and locks while the car is on the move. It submitted the detailed report to Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA). Tesla has cleared that it is committed to find-in the security flaws in its vehicles. Tesla will take all the required measures to safeguard the security features of its cars.
