Stocks to Watch: Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF), BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK)

Boston, MA 02/03/2014 (wallstreetpr) –  Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF)’s stock has significantly weakened position since last insider trading was reported. The stock fell 2.49 percent to $10.17 Friday. The company’s CAO David Edmonds traded the stock on Thursday 23 January where he unloaded about 61,000 shares at an average price of $10.78 per share. The executive pocketed more than $658,000 through the transaction which left him with about 283,400 shares of RF valued at approximately $3 million. The trading activities of insiders and influencing investors are closely tracked as they help everyday investors in making sound investment decisions, mostly by replicating their moves since they better understand the stock. However, given the amount of shares traded and that insider selling activities in RF are few and far between, there is no cause for alarm for those invested in Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF).

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) investors are better served the truth that although the company is making tremendous efforts in its turnaround journey, it still has a lot of ground to cover. The company’s smartphone market share in the U.S., one of its core markets, dropped to less than 0.5 percent in the just concluded year. By contrast, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) controlled 2 percent of the U.S. market a year earlier. And in the years past, the company dominated the smartphone market. What investors need to know at this juncture is that while the company is determined to explore other opportunities while also keeping an eye on devices, undoing the fast fall that it is into presently will require a lot of time, money and patience with the new breed of leaders now running the company.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) might already be factoring in its planned acquisition by Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) in its new devices. Pictures have emerged which are claimed to be of the rumored Asha 504. The striking thing in the pictures is that they show Bing used as the default search engine in the suspected Asha 504 phone. There is no way to verify whether the pictures are real or fake, but what is true is that Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) is still keen to show its technological edge in handsets especially now that it is just a heartbeat away from sealing a deal with Microsoft.
