Boston, MA 10/14/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Cancer diagnostics firm Biocept, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIOC) and Rosetta Genomics, Ltd. (NASDAQ:ROSG) in a joint announcement dated 13th October disclosed that they have decided to collaborate by integrating their mutually complementary diagnostic platforms in order to offer patients more reliable and cost effective solutions to diagnose cancer. The collaboration would involve proprietary “microfluidic channel technology” of Biocept, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIOC) and patented procedures followed by Rosetta Genomics, Ltd. (NASDAQ:ROSG) to analyze microRNA being combined to generate new diagnostic reports. The two firms have planned to initiate a new “joint proof-of-concept” program to being with.

3D printing technology pioneer 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) announced on 13th October that it has managed to enter into a new $150 million credit agreement which will have a five year tenure. The agreement would allow the firm access to revolving credit which will remain unsecured. The agreement has been arrived at with few unnamed lenders. The agreement also provides the tech firm with an option to increase its credit borrowing by an additional $75 million during the 5 year period, in the event of fulfilling certain terms and conditions. The company President and Chief Executive Officer Avi Reichental has commented that the increased and reworked capital structure will offer the firm more flexibility to execute its long-term initiatives.

Aluminium producer Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced on 13th that it has produced the world’s largest “single-piece forged aluminium hull” which would go into the production of combat vehicles used by the U.S armed forces. The metal manufacturer has indicated that the single piece of metal would help improve “troop protection”. The project to manufacture this new kind of hull was undertaken under a collaboration between Alcoa (NYSE:AA) and US Army last year. The news was made public at the ongoing the US Army Annual Meeting at the Washington Convention Centre, Washington DC. The conference is slated to conclude on 15th October.
