Stocks To Watch: Acceleron Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:XLRN); Sunedison Inc (NYSE:SUNE); Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ:TASE)

Boston, MA 10/15/2014 (wallstreetpr) –  Clinical stage bio tech firm Acceleron Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:XLRN) announced on 14th October that  it has kick started phase 1  clinical testing of its drug candidate ACE-083 . The drug candidate could be a god send to patients since it is designed to expand and increase the mass of chosen muscles. It blocks protein super family called “Transforming Growth Factor-Beta (TGF-β)” which influences the growth of muscles. Drug maker’s Chief Executive Officer John Knopf, Ph.D. has expressed his happiness that the company has introduced “another first-in-class protein therapeutic” drug into human testing. The drug maker is expected to provide succour to “patients suffering from muscular and neuromuscular diseases” in the event of the drug getting approved by FDA.

Solar technology solution provider Sunedison Inc (NYSE:SUNE) announced on 14th October that it has launched a new solar module technology which is based on “new zero white space” platform. The clean energy solution provider has asserted that the implementation of this new technology would help increase solar power output by nearly 15 percent. It also has established that the total system cost would be cut by 8 percent by implementing this new solution. The new technology works on the concept of “reducing the total unused area of the solar panel.”

Service optimization technology solutions provider Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ:TASE) and optical solutions provider MRV Communications ™, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVC) announced on 14th October that they have entered into a collaborative agreement to demonstrate “SDN-enabled virtual Customer Premises Equipment (vCPE) solution.” The proof of concept demonstration of the (vCPE) solution is scheduled to be held during the week of October 14-17, 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany at the “Layer 123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress.” The two firms are working to demonstrate the advantage of “application-aware SDN approach” as against the “traditional” approach towards service.
