Stocks High on Watch List: JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU), Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU), BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)

Boston, MA 01/31/2014 (wallstreetpr) – JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) is once again getting back where investors want it to be. The company has got most of the challenges it faced in 2012 and 2013 behind it and is looking to a better year in 2014 characterized by higher revenue and earnings growth. The company’s operations in 2012-2013 were impacted by flight cancellations, high operating costs and bad weather, pushing the airline from one crisis to another. Yet now, JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) has brought its costs to manageable levels and implemented programs to boost revenue. In light of these improvements, investors can expect solid earnings growth over the next two or three years. JBLU gained almost 6 percent in Thursday trading to close regular session at $8.99, having touched a high of $9.09 in the day.

Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU), perhaps like BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), might just stop salivating for buyers and get its hands dirty for a turnaround. In recent weeks the struggling company has demonstrated that it can regain its lost ground and even go an extra mile. ALU is exploiting the struggles and tension at Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) that has already offered its handset business to Microsoft, to win big enterprise contracts. The goodwill of the French government is also working nicely for Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU). Analysts are not shy to change their view on ALU saying that the path that the company is taking could transform its fortune rapidly and investors will have every reason to be happy for holding onto the stock.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s turnaround journey is still marred by challenges of all sorts. A recent consumer report just poured cold water into what BlackBerry CEO John Chen is doing by stating that the company’s smartphones re fast fading in the U.S. Even more uninspiring was that the recent operating system update has not brought with it the customer clout that was expected. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) lost more than 1.6 percent of its market value during Thursday trading on Nasdaq.
