Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) Unveils New Health And Fitness Center At Its Global Corporate Headquarters

Boston, MA 09/24/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Office products company, Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) disclosed that it has unveiled a new health and fitness center in its Framingham’s global corporate headquarters in the State of Massachusetts. It said that the move was part of its efforts to update the campus, including a new healthier cafeteria, smoke-free zone and a redecorated, collaborative and more open floor plan that was designed by Business Interiors.

Reinventing Itself

Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) stated that it would continue to reinvent itself in business, as well as, culture, its statement revealed. It also believes that the well-being and the health of its associates were supreme to its success. Therefore, the company preferred to invest in its best asset, i.e. its associates, to ensure work environment of a world-class apart from the resources they required to make themselves fit and energized.

Staples has established a health and fitness center over a 9,500 square feet space, which would be professionally managed and staffed by Plus One Health Management, an industry leader. Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) added that the smoke-free campus zone provided a lawn area and outdoor terrace to the fitness center’s right outside. Its employees were not only working there but also engaged in team-building, staying physically fit, eating and engaging themselves in Boot Camp training besides 5k races.

Staples Share Fund

Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) disclosed that it has established a non-profit organization, Staples Share Fund, that would provide relief to its associates in case of any financial assistance to meet any unexpected events such as catastrophic events or natural disasters or any other circumstances of beyond their limit. It was founded and funded by corporate and associate contributions.

Staples said that it has agreed to donate a maximum of $1 million that was already used to offer relief to those affected by personal and weather tragedy. Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) said that associates would be able to contribute to the fund by providing one-time donation or payroll deduction.
